Envisioned by artist JJ Jiang, the Village Art Circle came into  being on April 1, 2013, in Ashworth Village on Academy Street in downtown Cary, NC.

Over its first four years, the Village Art Circle exhibited the works of over 40 member artists from around the Triangle and further developed the relationship between artists and the greater community.  We held monthly featured shows highlighting our members.  In addition, we held annual juried shows, fund-raising exhibitions for charities, art critiques and a variety of classes and workshops.   We joined hands with local groups and the Town of Cary to bolster arts in our community.

In its fifth year, in 2017, owner of the Village Art Circle, JJ Jiang, determined to fulfill his original intent for the space - that of being both a studio, gallery and classroom. While setting up his own studio space within the VAC, he invited two studio artists to join him - Tim Postell and Veronica Samuel.  Though the VAC will still exhibits a variety of art and hosts classes and studio sessions, the space is now used as a working studio, with artists Tim, JJ and Veronica onsite and at work creating art, and engaging with visitors and the community in the process.

JJ, a resident of Cary for over 20 years, has been an active participant in the art community in the area.  He has taught art classes at various facilities including Cary Art Center, Jordan Art Center as well as other studios. His work has been exhibited in many venues in the Triangle.
